The original pictures of famous fairy tales were painted by the three Japanese artists,
were created into picture scrolls using traditional Japanese wood-block printing techniques.

Katsura Funakoshi

1951 Born in Morioka, Japan. His father Yasutake Funakoshi was also a famous sculptor. 1975 Graduated from the Sculpture Department of Tokyo Zokei University. 1977 Completed the Department of Sculpture of the Graduate School of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. 1986 One-year stay in London as a research worker of fine-art of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. 1991 Received the new artist encouragement prize of cultural fund of Takashimaya Department store. 1995 Received the excellent prize of 26th Teijiro Nakahara Prize. 1997 Received the 18th Denchu Hiragushi Prize. 2000 Became a professor of sculpture department of Tokyo Zokei University. 2002 Received the 33rd Teijiro Nakahara Prize. 2003 Exhibition "Yasutake Funakoshi and His Family" by the collection of citizens at Seishunkan in Morioka City. Solo museum exhibition "Katsura Funakoshi 1980-2003" at Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts, Asahikawa Museum of Art, Takamatsu City Museum of Art, Iwate Museum of Art and Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art. 2005 Solo exhibition at Anery Juda Art in London and Ernst Barlach Haus in Hamburg. 2007 Solo exhibition "Katsura Funakoshi - New Sculpture"at Nishimura Gallery. 2008 Solo museum exhibition "Katsura Funakoshi - Residence of Summer" at Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.
